Getting Started: Your Telgorithm Onboarding Guide

Welcome to Telgorithm! Since you're already registered as a Campaign Service Provider (CSP) with The Campaign Registry (TCR), this guide walks you step by step through getting fully integrated and sending live traffic through Telgorithm.

Step 1: Get access to the Telgorithm Portal

You'll receive an email invite to set your password and log in at portal.telgorithm.com. Once you're in, you can invite other teammates from the Organization tab.

Add your existing CSP ID under the “Organization” tab in the portal. Linking your CSP ID lets Telgorithm automatically import any Brands and Campaigns you already have approved, so there's no need to re-register anything you've already set up with TCR.

Step 3: Set up billing

Go to Organization > Billing in the portal to add a payment method. Keeping a valid billing method on file avoids any delay or interruption to your messaging traffic once you're sending live volume.

Note that campaign vetting fees ($15 per campaign) are also passed through Telgorithm and billed to this same payment method, in addition to your regular usage charges.

Step 4: Create a Brand and Campaign in TCR

If you don't already have a Brand and Campaign set up for this use case, you'll need to create them directly in TCR. A Brand represents your company, and a Campaign represents the specific messaging use case you'll be sending (for example, appointment reminders or marketing alerts). When creating your Campaign, select Telgorithm as your Connectivity Partner (CNP) so it can be attached to your numbers once approved.

If you already own Campaigns as a CSP under your old provider, reach out to support@telgorithm.com to learn more about migrating your existing Campaigns.

Step 5: Get your API key

Go to Organization > General in the portal and open the “API Keys” panel to view your Primary Token. You'll use this token to authenticate all requests to the Telgorithm API.

Step 6: Get your phone numbers

Once your Campaign is active in the portal, you can purchase new numbers directly in the portal, or bring over numbers you already use elsewhere (for example, on Twilio) using free, automated number porting. Porting typically completes without any disruption to your existing traffic.

See Provisioning Phone Numbers for a full step-by-step guide to acquiring phone numbers.

Step 7: Create a Messaging Configuration

A Messaging Configuration is what bridges your phone numbers to a registered Campaign and tells Telgorithm where to send webhook events. Go to Messaging > Configs in the portal, add a configuration, choose the Campaign it applies to, set your webhook URL(s), and assign the number(s) you want to use.

The same fields are available via the Messaging Config endpoints.

Assigning a number here is what triggers it to be attached to the Campaign.

Step 8: Set up your webhook endpoint

Your application needs an endpoint that can receive events from Telgorithm, most importantly:

  • Inbound messages: replies and new messages sent to your numbers.

  • Outbound Message Delivery Status: tells you whether a message you sent was delivered, failed, or is still pending.

  • Opt-in / opt-out events: Telgorithm automatically monitors and enforces opt-in/opt-out status for 10DLC compliance, but your integration should still listen for these events to keep your own records in sync.

Point the webhook URL(s) in your Messaging Configuration to this endpoint. See the Webhooks documentation for the full event list and payload formats, including how to verify the optional Authorization header Telgorithm sends with each webhook.

Step 9: Send your first message

With your API key, a Messaging Configuration, and a number in place, you're ready to call the Outbound Message endpoint to send your first text. Full request/response details, authentication, and code samples here. If you want to correlate messages with a specific conversation or customer record, you can also attach custom data using Conversation Metadata.

Step 10: Go live and monitor your traffic

Once you've confirmed messages are sending and delivery/inbound webhooks are coming through correctly, you're ready to move to full production volume. A few things to keep an eye on:

  • Throughput limits: Telgorithm's Smart Queueing automatically manages your Campaign's approved carrier rate limits, so you don't need to build any rate-limiting logic yourself.

  • Opt-in / opt-out events: Telgorithm handles opt-in/opt-out monitoring and enforcement for 10DLC compliance on your behalf, so keep an eye on the webhook events just to stay in sync with your own systems.

  • Delivery status webhooks: Keep tracking these to catch any failed or delayed messages early.

Voice and voice features

Telgorithm also offers a programmable Voice API you can use alongside your messaging integration to add real-time call control on the same numbers.

  • Static Call Forwarding: forwards all inbound calls on a number to a fixed destination, with no dynamic logic required.

  • Dynamic Call Forwarding: sends a webhook when a call comes in, so your application can decide in real time whether to forward the call, play a message, or hang up.

  • Outbound Calling: initiate calls programmatically from your application, with a custom Caller ID from a number you own or have ported in.

  • Call status webhooks: Ringing, Answered, and Completed events are sent per call leg so you can track and log call progress.

See the Voice Services documentation for setup details.
